The inauguration act of the III Workshop of the International Follow- up Committe (CIS, by its initials in Spanish) of the International Forum Democracy and and Cooperation (FIDC, by its initials in Spanish) has taken place in the headquarters of the Andalusian Municipalities for the International Solidariry (FAMSI) in Cordoba, Spain.
During two days -4th and 5th of March- around 15 representatives of social movements and organizations of Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe will build together an Action Plan towards the VI FIDC.
In the welcome message Antonio Zurita, representative of FAMSI, emphasized that "social organizations that work in cooperation for the development need to act and create an advocacy platform” .
Juan Carmelo García, IEPALA’s president, shared some keys for the debate and reflection: "Remember that what we call Civil Society is a subject to define; in the horizon of the world we do not have a subject with objective capacity to construct an alternative. We have many pieces that need an alternative subject, for the transformation towards an alternative system”
