KARACHI, Jan 17: A large number of workers of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) staged a sit-in in front of the office of its CEO to demand early payment of their pending salaries. Pakistan Steel Labour Union (Paslo) issued a statement on Jan 16. It said the labours besieged the building for many hours and chanted slogans. They demanded payment of their outstanding salaries, warning to close the National Highway if their demand went ignored. Zafar Khan and other Paslo leaders spoke on the occasion. They said the PSM could be made profitable within six months, provided the government gave raw material, competent management and one-time bailout.###
